Heavy rains in Delhi and surrounding areas have brought great relief from the scorching heat. Many areas of Delhi-NCR received rains accompanied by strong winds on Sunday. This brought down the mercury.
There will be relief for now
According to the Meteorological Department, the western disturbance is getting active in and around Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, there may be rain with thunder and strong winds in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi in the next five days.
There are chances of rain with thunderstorms in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. East winds are also blowing at lower levels from the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, there is a possibility of sporadic rain in Uttarakhand and eastern UP for seven days.
Heavy rains may occur in some areas of Uttarakhand from 23-25 June and in some parts of eastern UP on 24 and 25 June. The Meteorological Department has predicted the arrival of monsoon in eastern UP and Chhattisgarh in the next three to four days. Monsoon has reached six districts of Madhya Pradesh. 40 people died across the country in 48 hours due to heat wave.
